Web Site Instructions Once You Have Your New Web Site

For Executive Members of ICIWorld

Web sites are included in your membership for the first six months whether you use them or not.  You just have to ask for one.  If you like it after six months it is only $9.95 per month.

In one sense they are like billboards.  If we can help you make $50,000 over the next few years with the one we send you, and you can make $50,000 with the one you already have, then why not?  Our point? You can have more than one.

In the cases of brokers and salespeople having more than one, there are several options.  Some like to keep the one that they have as more residential and the one from ICIWorld more commercial.  One places a link on the commercial one that says "Visit my residential web site" or just place a link that says "Residential" and when people click on it, they go to your residential site.

On your residential site, you put a button that says "Commercial" and it take them to your commercial site.

When you deal with residential customers you give them that site domain name.  When you deal with commercial customers you give them your commercial real estate web site domain name.

Have you ever heard of Point2 Realty Solutions? 

They are a company out of Saskatchewan, Canada.  They have helped to create over 180,000 real estate web sites in North America for real estate professionals like yourself. They started to charge about $50 per month about a year ago for the standard web site but to make a long story short, ICIWorld has become an official distributor of the Point2 Agent web site and we include it free for the first six months. After that it is only $9.95 per month. We consider it among the Mercede Benz of web sites.

After six months you have a choice to continue for $9.95 per month or give it up.  However most all brokers are keeping them because they work generating leads. This is one of the most powerful Internet tools any and all brokers can have.

ICIWorld is also an official educator of these sites.  We help you unlock the potential of these web sites and share with you what we call the "web site philosophy."  Without it you probably will still keep missing doing deals.

Why is it free for six months included in an ICIWorld Executive Membership.  Several reasons:

  • support is provided by some advertising at the bottom.  I have seen a mortgage company, a moving company.  If you need to get rid of that then there is a monthly fee for the professional version;

  • there are certain limitations such as only five EMail addresses or fifteen buttons.  If you need more then you will need the professional version;

  • there is a limitation of fifteen buttons.  We have found this works to generate leads.  However if you want more then you will need the professional version which is about $49.95 per month;

  • however we have hundreds who now have this site are it is fully functional and has all the basics needed to start a really great presence on the Internet.

Why do we and Point2 do it this way? 

If we can show you how to make money in your service to the public using these web sites and you start to make money, would you upgrade to the professional version once you have made money?  Most all say yes.

This web site does both Residential AND Commercial and can be made to look more residential or commercial as you wish. It will come to you looking more residential but you will see shortly, it will be changed to look commercial with just a few changes. You can use it for both markets.

So here is the plan.  A web site has been sent to you by EMail from Point2.  We have chosen to use Point2 for all our ICIWorld members for their web sites because:

  • it is so compatible;

  • it is so easy to use

  • it gives you full control over everything;

  • Point2 is a large community of over 180,000 networking residential real estate as well;

  • your residential properties will be googled from outer space.  More on this later;

  • ICIWorld has become an official distributor and educator of these web sites.

Why get the web site through ICIWorld? We are an official educator and provide technical and other support of the Standard Web Sites. Point2 only provides support for the Professional Version.

Once you have received the web site you must contact us or send an email with your web site address, log in id, and password by EMail click here.

Your first order of business?

  • Log in to your new web site.  It comes to you in a link in an email sent to you from ICIWorld and Point2;

  • Listen to the initial presentation about the Point 2 community;

  • Set the site as a favorite in your browser so you can get there easily;

  • It will ask you to design a password.  You can use the same one as on ICIWorld or make a new one.  It is up to you;

  • Send your id and password to us.

  • set a time for an initial 15-30 minute orientation session with us.

We will personally go to work for you and do several things:

  • install a link to the World Commercial listings in a way that YOU get the calls;

  • WORK LEADS AS A REFERRAL;

  • install a link to your state or provincial listings in a way that YOU get the calls;

  • install a link to your personal ICI Haves and Wants.  When you add commercial real estate Haves and Wants to ICIWorld, they are instantly added to your own web site.

  • call us to get orientated.  Be in front of your computer logged in;

  • sometimes we do these installations in your first orientation session with you.

  • we will help you design a domain name;

  • we will help you to register that domain name and get it working within one hour in many cases!

  • we will discuss the look and design of your web site;

  • we will show you how easily things can be changed and how to do them.

Additional training and support:

Here are some things you can become familiar with and should try to do on your own account:

  • become familiar with On Line Office, Edit Web Site, Preview Web Site.  These are buttons you will see once you have logged in to your web site.  They are all at the top.

  • There also is an online manual;

  • There also is a PDF file manual that you can download to your computer;

  • It is very easy to search for answers to questions.

  • Every subject has videos on line from within the web site in the user manual.

  • Then once you have seen the video if you have problems or questions, call us.

On Line Office

  • click on Domains and EMail, then Domain Store, then I Want To Buy One Domain Name. This is to register your domain names. We suggest every one have at least three and we will explain later. One can be your name ie: marysmith.com You give this to people you know.  It is easy for them to remember. Then your city with the world real estate in it. This can help your site come up first or at the top when people use search engines.

  • click on Listings. You can add your residential listings there. After a while you become familiar with Selling Areas which you have to designate first to add your listings.  After you will become familiar with Handshakes that allow your listings to be advertised on other brokers web sites, and their listings on your web site.

  • make Listing Brochures and much more.

Edit Web Site

  • click on Edit Web Site Title and Slogan and change it;

  • there is an item called Pages and you have a choice to edit your pages. Change the word homes in the content in the paragraphs to be properties is one idea that many use.  Add your phone number and title after the word Sincerely in the main Welcome message.

  • click on Sort Menu. We suggest Home should always be first.  Then My Listings, Then the button we provide for your state or provinces listings because this generates leads for you.  Then World Commercial. You can change them to any order.

  • click on Customize Design. There are choices to add your logo and picture. If you have picture of yourself and a logo on your computer, you can immediately add it to your web site.

  • click on Graphics and buttons.  Change the header graphic.

  • Themes. You can change the theme look of your web site any time.  Some will give you more choice of the graphic that goes at the top of your page. This is one of the easiest ways to change it to look commercial.

There is a way to link to other web sites, add pictures and do just about any changes that you want. 

After every change that you save, click on Preview Web Site to see what your changes look like.  Changes will not appear to the public for about two hours.

Once you have a domain name you should also place it on ICIWorld. It will automatically appear in all your listings. To do this go to www.iciworld.net click on Member Management, click on My Record and fill it in the field called Home Page.

All of this Internet stuff is like climbing a mountain.  How do you climb a mountain? One step at a time. 

There are one billion people now using the Internet.  This will give you a great presence on the Internet and provide services for them and you will make money.
