I have chosen to place them on all on the Internet. Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone not far from where I live. I feel like a mad scientist type inventor, like Edison, Marconi and others who have an idea that can benefit mankind, yet people do not appreciate the world significance of it all.
Sometimes we grow but at a certain point you reach a certain level of incompetence. So pardon the ramblings. A lot of the work we do is so important for the betterment of the world I do not want it to be lost.

The following is an extensive narrative detailing some of the thinking that has gone on to develop this service.
ICIWorld started as the first real estate information service on the Internet in 1994. Concept and design by a real estate broker. (that is why you can see it can use a great graphic organizer and design person to this day)

And it all started in CCIM networking meetings of presenting Haves and Wants.
Haves are the real estate properties for sale and for lease as well as business opportunities.
Haves include real estate board listings advertised by broker members and very importantly exclusive have and want real estate opportunities.
The problem was, I simply could not keep track of all the permutations and combinations, the specifics of the Haves and Wants, a way to mark down phone numbers, names, and yet searchable at a moments notice, and then the significance doing it just for myself and the excitement of the advantage of having connections for any potential trade in real estate before anyone else as a competitive advantage and making a lot of money, or designing services for the next 20 years and people ignored and criticized both destructively and to those constructively I thank. Sometimes the closest professional people you know and certain loved ones can be the most negative of all. But this service always had the power of positive thinking, the members who had the positive thinking and great great attitudes to deal with failure and make every failure a simple learning experience and another step going forward.
It is not easy when you can have loved ones taken from you in car accidents at early ages, and you think about the suffering of people around the world and the horrors and atrocities that humans inflict on each worse than animals yet the beauty and fun of life shines through in many wonderful ways and with new beginnings.
Making a living is the bottom line, going after your goals is a way of life and to have that opportunity I am thankful. Many have not had the chance.
There are so many good people on this earth who quietly go about their life. I am amazed and inspired by them. Contributions to charitable functions happen every day where people want to help. The money being made by real estate salespeople when they have enough to feed their families and prosper, they too contribute to charitable causes and foundations. In that sense the connections that we help our industry with, the wealth created both for salespeople who help the public create wealth for themselves by owning real estate, we like to think that facilitating trades in real estate that we too have contributed in an integral way. Without a connection there may have not been this trade at this time.
People today are missing opportunities and they do not even know it. They say you do not know what you do not know. I took a whole summer off and went fishing every day in my boat with my dog. For three months we caught fish every day, admired them and put them back in the lake. But you never new exactly when. You did not know which lure would work and where they were. It was a lot of trial and error. Marketing is a lot like fishing. You never know where your next deal is going to come from. An open house, a call off an ad or sign. Or a question to someone who gives a favourable response. Or a friend who expresses and interest. You develop your own business strategy but a key is service, honesty and integrity. People can sense if you are not honest or put their best interests forward.
When you search in a price range, should you now look at every single home in that price range that you would possible consider living in otherwise their could be a better deal down the road and you are missing out? I see Millenials missing out because in their haste to do everything in 2 seconds they miss out if something does not match up to their standards. So exclusive information is being missed, how to work exclusive information, because of they do not like the design it is not with it. But their are many others who see the benefit of quietly and methodically going about prospecting, networking, and building relationships with people that is the strength of growing a real estate business.

The concept started from a problem we saw in CCIM marketing sessions where brokers would stand up and talk about a property a client of theirs who said they would like to sell a shopping centre for $4,000,000. Over $200,000,000 of properties would be talked about and presented in packages over a one or two day period and exclusive opportunities where you had to contact the broker for more information.

Then our monthly meetings at TREB (Toronto Real Estate Board) also provided a forum to talk about the opportunities one had. One would develop a good business relationship with another when interested and business was being conducted.
At these meetings I would feverishly write down to track all the Haves and Wants but simply could not keep up. Then in my everyday business I the marketplace I was talking with a lawyer one day who indicated he had clients to buy a shopping center. I could not remember who presented the shopping center in a previous marketing session that I had attended. That was a potential $50,000 commission to show that property if only I could remember. These were not signed listing opportunities. These were professional brokers, CCIM’s talking about the opportunities to buy and sell on behalf of the prospects and clients they were dealing with.

Started in 1994 as a Commercial Investment Bulletin Board System, it was an answer to keep track of a problem of recording Haves and Wants presented during CCIM marketing sessions where millions of dollars of buying and selling opportunities are networked. If you miss a contact you can easily miss doing a deal. And if you did not capture the information you can easily miss doing a deal and not realize it. And also you could know about a substantial investment property, but if no one else knew about it, you essentially became a secret agent because only you knew it was for sale. Without a buyer there was no business to be done.

It is a requirement of most licensing bodies that if a real estate broker is going to advertise a property he/she must have the consent of the owner in writing. But if you simply say you have a $1m property available in a city, that does no identify specific property and that is what we call real estate information.
